I can't believe that we are in September already, Can you?
Fall is literally just a few weeks away.
Are you Excited to Welcome the Fall season?
Are you ready to start decorating your home for Fall?
Well, before you do, you should first check out this new book,
- A Cozy Minimalist Guide to Decorating and Hosting All Year Round, by Myquillyn Smith.
This new book, Welcome Home, will have you rethinking the way you decorate your home for the changing seasons.
Welcome Home is the third decorating book by Myquillyn Smith and I have now read and loved all three of her books. I actually feel like these books belong in a series together because her first book, The Nesting Place, It Doesn't Have To Be Perfect To Be Beautiful focuses on how to embrace the natural imperfection and chaos of daily living.
Myquillyn's second book, Cozy Minimalist; More Style, Less Stuff, is more about getting into the mindset that helps you to get whatever style you love with the fewest items possible. And now Myquillyn's newest book, Welcome Home, is all about decorating and hosting our homes for each season.
As I write about this new book, I'm going to share with you some of my favorite images from the book. However, you might be surprised to learn that these decorating books aren't just about pretty pictures of a perfectly styled home. No, these books are chock-full of very informative information. You are actually going to want to read these books, not just look at the pretty pictures. :)
I've walked away from each of these books with a better knowledge of what decorating really means to me. These books have also left me so inspired to make our home more simple, cozy, and meaningful.
Welcome Home is broken into four main sections -- One for each season with a chapter on decorating and a chapter on hosting. The theme throughout the book is 'more style, less stuff', and Gone are the days of lugging around bins of seasonal decor that just clutter up your homes and your minds.
Inside Welcome Home, Myquillyn shares her tips for making your home feel super festive without adding a bunch of stuff. She is also a big fan of shopping your own homes, and looking to the creator for inspiration.
My favorite season has always been summer, but now that we are heading into fall, I was excited to learn new ways to transition into the new season. I'm really looking forward to changing up the color scheme around our home and incorporating some Autumn elements from nature.
Another big takeaway from this book is about hospitality and how to make your home feel cozy and inviting for your guest. Myquillyn teaches you what to focus on and what not to worry about as a relaxed and confident host.
So do you have a favorite season?
Is it also your favorite season to decorate for?
Even though Summer is my favorite season, I really look forward to welcoming each and every season into our home.
I feel like this is a book that I will reach for throughout the year to get inspired to decorate our home for all the changing seasons.
