A record number of consumer households their early spring garden plants for sale in garden centers and local retail stores compared to wholesalers and hardware stores this spring. Garden Writers Association Foundation (GWAF) 2010 Early Spring Garden Trends Research Report, conducted last month, found a significant change in consumer buying preferences with a clear majority (54%) stating that they intend to most of their spring garden plants in garden centers to buy, while only 37% chose mass merchants as their primary source for plants this spring.

Early spring report concerns consumer expectations and attitudes for activities and planned for March to May purchases. Data were collected between March 3 to 6 of Technometrica Market Intelligence, rated the premier research institute accurate in the last two US national elections.
