DESIGN PLAN

Remember me?  I'm back from Boulder and as usual it was jam packed with building furniture [epic fail], shopping, styling and coming up with economical ways to pull this project together in 3 days.

This was one of the pieces we tried to build

Um.....after 2 hours we gave up and it is now going back to Target half built and with a bad taste in our mouth.  Don't tell me while I am slaving..... trying to put it together..... to watch a video on how to put the drawers together.

That sent me over the edge.  Hands in the air waving a white flag.  Done.

And....I might add there are very limited resources as Boulder is about 45 minutes from Denver so there is no popping over to another HomeGoods to find that perfect piece.

Getting creative is an understatement.

Of course as usual some areas were not finished before I left but I will edit what pictures I have for the next post.

Today I'm sharing a new project for a young couple in my neighborhood.

Starting with the LR.

I posted this on Instagram the other day and even though I might be tired of the soft blue greens....this color scheme continues to be the most requested!

The front door opens into this small space so there was a little jockeying to get a seating space to work.

A small sofa and 2 spool chairs facing each other.

I used this Charles Stewart sofa so we could shorten it to 68".  Low profile arms will still give comfortable seating.  You can see the sofa is very light but it is Crypton fabric for performance!

The rug is from Surya and is a synthetic giving us a great look for the money.  Plus she has 2 dogs and small children so in 4-5 years it can be replaced without feeling guilt!

Because the room is small here are 2 coffee tables I sent her.  Both from Wisteria.

But...then I sent this one [from Ballard] to see if I could bring her over to the modern side:)

The good thing is that it won't take up much visual space in the room!  Guess what.....after some thought and discussion she agreed and it's been ordered!

Next up is a small table in between the 2 chairs.

These 2 from Wisteria were the rejects.....and the one below is the winner!

For window treatments I am staying simple with a a light scrim on satin brass rods.

We ordered this bench.....

For this wall with some art above.  I'm having it recovered in the floral fabric that we are using for the pillows on the sofa.

To the left as you come in the front door I ordered this console table. [can't find it online anymore]
I have been busy loading my car with accessories and hopefully it will be installed soon.

This area in her kitchen needed a little love for sure.  Remember when this trend was big?  A desk in the kitchen?  Since she is planning to redo her kitchen in the next couple of years we decided to make it look totally different.

Painted Urbane Bronze with a walnut top.  Open shelves above.  Let me get it styled up for you and then pictures.

I am beat.  The day before I left my husband had hernia surgery.  The day after I got home he had another minor surgery.

I feel like I need a vacation but that's not happening.  So I'll just trudge on.
